There was a need for an all-island mechanism for addressing island issues and building community. A few neighbors formed the non-profit and opened it up for people to participate at any level. There is no need to “join” DIA… If you would like to hold a leadership position, volunteer on a committee, or simply attend a meeting, everyone - EVERYONE - is welcome.

DIA is led by a volunteer leadership team of four people. The individual members of the team will change over time, but meeting participants agreed to a team leadership model.
